Bestie's, Like Whoa

I bought these shirts when my little one was only about 3 months old and have been waiting patiently until she could properly fill it out. Well, yesterday was the day and I have to say, DON'T WE LOOK CUTE?!
The joy and love my little girl brings me is to the moon and back x infinity. Yes, she cries. Yes, she whines when she can't grab puppies ears and Yes, she throws her bottle off her high chair, but, who cares... she's just perfect, to me.

You can find your own "best friends" shirts, here

FLY AWAY, Fly-aways!

Does anyone else have the problem with fly-aways after pregnancy? The awful picture below doesn't even do it justice of how annoying it looks on me. I try gel, hairspray, lotion, ANYTHING to get those suckers up there to lay down. I should be thankful that my hair is growing back but, sheesh, waiting for them to get long enough is enough to make me want to wear a hat most days. Thankfully it's winter... so I do.

PEEK IN - Calvin's Nursery

Names: Mama, Jillian and Baby Calvin
Age: 5 Months
From: Princeton, NJ
“What is the theme?” I developed a head tick over this question.
Sigh, theme or no theme I was over the moon about my baby. I didn't need a crib bumper with little soccer balls or a wall hanging of baby
elephants to show my level enthusiasm. Even though I didn’t express my excitement with a rug that matched the changing pad, I loved putting Calvin’s room together.
I started to gather ideas on Pinterest for a black and white nursery. I wanted a room that was whimsical but not pastel. I wanted it to look like a child’s room but with tons of room to grow and change. The
first item I purchased were the curtains. They are from Ikea and they have that whimsical feeling I was looking for. That was the last item I bought for my Pinterest board. After that I went for fun and
function. We took the doors off the closet to make the small room feel a little more open. I used numbered bins from Land of Nod to help my husband find items. (diapers are in bin 1!!) I printed selfies
of friends and family to make a small gallery wall. I used books and toys to add color. Some of my favorite items in the room were gifts from thoughtful friends and family. I love how the room came out
but I have no problem moving things around.
Carrie Note - I am OBSESSED with the selfie wall of friends and family. I think I have to steal that and incorporate it into our night time routine. Thanks for sharing, Jillian! I love Calvin's room!

Review For You

Now this is what's so awesome about 9Months! I received a review from the Tasting Director at Cuisine Noir Magazine and here is what she said about our sparkling red and whites.
"It was refreshing and fruity with out being cloying, and the overall balance was very lovely. Certainly a welcome alternative to other mom-to-be options."
That to me, is what I too think of our sparklings as well, but, said much more eloquently.
Now, for those of you who haven't tried it... or haven't gifted it... what are you waiting for?
Cheers, everyone and for those of you in this arctic freeze, stay warm out there!

7 Months!? Already!?

My sweet little Maddie Love is already 7 Months today. Man, how time flies. Man, how I never thought I'd say that when she was a newborn and crying all hours of the day with colic. But, man... it sure does. She's so so soooo fun now! She's playing with all her toys, yelling to hear herself yell. Laughing hysterically at Macaroni and likes to play rough with her daddy. We're still working on crawling, but, that will come. Right now she really loves hitching rides on my side and hey, I don't mind it!
Happy 7 Months, baby girl! We LOVE you!

PEEK IN - Madeleine's Nursery

PEEK IN, will be a new addition to my blog for a weekly post on peeking in on people's nurseries. I always LOVE seeing what parents put together for their arriving little one. I love seeing the personal touches, what they think is important and unique styles they place in babies rooms. I decided to start with Maddie's space to kick this off. When Maddie was still in my tummy, I did not get her nursery ready at all. After losing my first child at 39 weeks, I couldn't bare to have to put away a nursery again, so we decided to keep it empty until she was officially here. When people would ask why she didn't have anything set up, my sweet husband would respond with, "we don't know what she likes yet!". It was the perfect answer for those who didn't know our story. One thing I did put up was her "Madeleine" banner. I wanted something, even something small like that to let her know that we were ready for her in our own way.
When she did arrive, man, we had to go into overdrive! Thankfully my mother and father helped tremendously with this and set up the crib and a diaper changing area. Since we didn't have anything set up and ready, at now nearly 7 Months, I can officially say that Maddie's room is completely finished and I love it. I wanted something cute, but not too cute. I wanted something sweet, but, not overbearing and I wanted purple and grey and look... her room is purple and gray. i wanted books (I am still working on her library slowly but surely) and her room would not be complete without her trusty guard dog, Macaroni. I hope you enjoy her room as much as I do!

Nanny Notes -- Ep. 2

During my holiday break I found myself sitting on my boyfriend’s couch not paying attention to him or his family. What was I doing? Reading the latest Buzzfeed article? Cursing the latest engagements on my Facebook timeline? Texting my best friends who were all hanging out three hours away? Even though those were all regular occurrences for me, at this moment I was helplessly scrolling through my camera roll at pictures of Maddie and Mack.
After two weeks of not seeing my precious babies, I went back to work today. I was greeted by lots of licks from my four legged boyfriend (Macaroni) and an ear-to-ear grin from my tiny human. Maddie now sleeps in her crib without pitching a fit, eats multiple jars of baby food for each meal, and tolerates tummy time. WHO IS THIS BABY? Needless to say, caring for Maddie Love on my first day back was a breeze.
However it would not be a day in the life if I wasn’t asked to do off the wall tasks. Todays were to make a week’s worth of breakfast and spend a weekend in California this summer…
